Aging is an unavoidable part of life but is dreaded by most people. The life experiences and wisdom gained while growing older is a great aspect of aging but the weakness of the body, illness and identity crisis is a part of growing older that most people wish to avoid.

Now there’s no magic that can turn back time or keep you young forever, but youthfulness is a state of mind you don’t have to stop being young no matter how old you get

Choose a good diet to follow: Dieting is all the rage these days, because most people feel that “skinner is healthier” they try out different diets. Remember just because a diet is said to be good doesn’t mean it’s good for you, health conditions, lifestyle, preferences and budget should determine the kind of diet you choose. Sometimes you might not even need to diet, find what’s right for you and stick to it. Remember to always seek medical advice from a professional before starting any diet, especially if you have underlying health conditions.

Exercise more: The older a person gets, the weaker their joints and bones become but you can avoid this by exercising regularly. A scientific study found that an active 60 year old is just as healthy as an inactive 30 year old. Try out exercises that are easy for you, yoga, cardio, running, cycling, skipping are a few examples.

Keep your mind active: The brain plays a huge part in ones youthfulness, stimulating your brain by reading books regularly, playing puzzles, engaging in intellectually stimulating conversations goes a long way in keeping the mind active.

Learn a new hobby: Nothing screams “youth” like the desire to learn and do everything. Ever had something you wanted to try when you were younger but just didn’t have the time to? Do it now. Learn a new skill, start a sport, join communities and make friends, join mentorship programs, help out at a charity, take that online class, surf the internet for hobbies related to your interest.

Think Positively: For most people life becomes harder the older they get. Responsibilities, midlife crisis, loss of a loved one, or unrealized dreams can led into depression. Loneliness and anxiety are very common with middle aged and older people, it weighs on their psyche and shows itself in the physique. Having a positive outlook in life goes a long way in bringing back that youthful feel to your life.

Circumstances of lives might be beyond our control, however the way we react them plays a major part in how we enjoy our life.
